Jaggery (Ghoor):
Is sold as hard or semi-soft pieces of unrefined cane sugar. It varies in color from light golden brown
to very dark brown, has a unique flavor close to that of molasses, and is used in many Indian recipes instead of sugar.
Johnny Jump-Ups:
Violet, mauve, yellow and white flowers. Light winter-green flavor.
Uses: Great in salads and as garnish for pastry and desserts.
Juniper Berries:
Dried berries of the evergreen shrub.
Uses: In sauerkraut, the making of gin, and many game dishes.
